“Excellent food cooked with a light touch”

My wife ate here with some friends, and unusually for her, enjoyed it (she’s not generally keen on Chinese food). As she’d enjoyed it, and whilst she’s been away, I’ve had three takeaways. All have been excellent, portion sizes were more than adequate, and the food was well flavoured with distinct seasoning. And best of all there was a distinct lack of oil.

I might prefer my Kung Po and Szechuan chicken a bit more spicy – so next time I’ll ask and am confident they’l oblige.

Portion sizes are indeed smaller than China China in Halton, and prices generally higher – but lets remember this is a restaurant, not just a takeaway, and the premises and staff cost money. I’ve used both and much prefer the quality and flavour from China Water over China China. You pay ytour money and take your choice.

Oh, and as to portuons and price, the Wendover Chinese (now shut) cost me £50 for 2 15 years ago for smaller portions (rice that didn’t even fill the container), and that was the last time there had been a decent Chinese restaurant for miles around. Richard F Aylesbury

“Consistently Good”

Have been here quite a few times now, but this is the first review I have given for China Water.
It may not be the cheapest, but we have always been very happy with the food and the service.
Greeted on the way in, and greeted on the way out, and although last night was really busy there again,
the service was still perfect, and food came out promptly. Nothing was too much trouble. Just the way it should be.. If I had one criticism, it would be for an itemised bill at the end, rather than just a total,. We were not sure if a service charge had been included, but we took it that it wasn’t, and were happy to leave 10 % on top of out bill for a lovely evening.
